This policy describes what the AutoMind app collects, where it is stored, and who it is shared with. It is written to match what the software actually does.
Account. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, AutoMind receives your email address, whether Google has verified it, and your display name. Nothing else from your Google account.
Your vehicle. Make, model, year, engine, fuel type, transmission, tyre size and VIN, as you enter them.
Engine data. Readings your car's own computer reports over OBD2. These include coolant temperature, engine speed, torque, engine load, road speed, fuel rail pressure, fuel rate, oil pressure, battery and control module voltage, intake air temperature, manifold and barometric pressure, and diesel particulate filter soot level, flow, differential pressure and regeneration status.
Trips. The start time, end time and distance of each drive.
Location. Only if you turn it on. AutoMind uses your phone's location to measure how far a trip went. The distance in kilometres is sent to the AutoMind servers. Your position, your route and your coordinates are not sent, and they are not saved on your phone either. If you leave location off, AutoMind estimates distance from the car's own speed instead.
Diagnostics and history. Fault codes read from the car, alerts AutoMind raised, the learned baselines it builds for each measurement, filter regeneration events, and any service records you enter, including dates, mileage, parts, workshop, cost and notes.
To show you your car's current state, to learn what is normal for your car so that drift can be detected, and to produce your weekly summary and health report. AutoMind does not sell your data and does not share it with advertisers.
Amazon Web Services stores it. All data is held in AWS in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) region and is encrypted at rest.
Anthropic receives vehicle data, with no identifiers, when AutoMind writes an explanation. Some features send a short summary to Anthropic's Claude API to turn it into readable text. AutoMind does not add your email address, name, account ID or vehicle ID to what it sends, and it does not send your raw reading history.
What is sent depends on the feature. Alert explanations send the measurement involved and its values, counts and dates. The weekly summary sends the findings for that week as figures and dates. Service interval and mileage checklist lookups send your car's year, make, model, engine description, fuel type, transmission and tyre size — the engine description and tyre size are text you typed. If you use the follow-up question feature to ask about an alert, the question you type is sent, along with the earlier questions and answers in that conversation. Your service records are not sent: not the notes, the workshop, the cost, or the parts.
Google receives nothing beyond the sign-in itself, and only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Amazon Simple Email Service sends your account email.
Expo delivers app updates. The app checks Expo's servers for updates.
AutoMind does not include third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising software.
Usage counters and follow-up conversation history are deleted automatically after 48 hours. Everything else — your vehicle, readings, trips, alerts, fault codes, baselines, regeneration events, health snapshots, weekly reports and service records — is kept until it is deleted on request. There is no automatic deletion schedule for it.
AutoMind does not yet have a delete button in the app. To have your data deleted, email [email protected] from the address you signed up with. AutoMind will delete your account and the data stored about you. See the support page for what to include.
You can export a Vehicle Health Report from the app as a PDF and a CSV file. This covers one vehicle's current state and history, not everything stored about you. For a full copy, email [email protected].
Every request to the AutoMind API requires you to be signed in, over HTTPS. Every request that names a vehicle is checked against the signed-in account, so one account cannot read or change another's data. Data is encrypted at rest.
AutoMind is not intended for children.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
